Retail Industry Mourns Loss of Influential Leader Cathy Polley

November 4, 2015

The Retail Dietitians Business Alliance was deeply saddened this week to learn of the passing of Cathy Polley, VP, Health & Wellness at the Food Marketing Institute and Executive Director of the FMI Foundation. Cathy had bravely fought ovarian cancer for the past several years and lost her fight with the disease earlier this week. The RDBA leadership, along with all our members, extends our condolences to Cathy’s family and her FMI family.

Cathy has been a supporter of RDBA since its inception in 2012 and was an active member of the Advisory Board. She was an incredible partner in the development of the FMI-RDBA toolkit Hiring, Leveraging & Empowering Retail Dietitians as well as the Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics Certificate of Training Supermarket Business and Industry Skills to Thrive in Retail Dietetics. She championed health and wellness in the retail setting and was an avid supporter of the work of retail dietitians and the valuable contribution these nutrition professionals make to the retail business.

Cathy’s vision and insight, relentlessly positive spirit, grace in all situations, and fabulous sense of style will truly be missed. As more information is available about memorials, we will keep you informed.
