Retail registered dietitians can nominate themselves or a colleague for two sets of awards, which will both be announced at the Progressive Grocer fifth annual Retail Dietitian Symposium from June 3-5 in Anaheim, CA (complimentary travel and registration provided for award winners).

RDBA Retail RD of the Year Award

This award recognizes a retail dietitian who shows leadership in utilizing business skills and industry knowledge to positively impact consumer behavior change through the retail sector.  In the application, it is essential to focus on how the retail RD has leveraged business skills and industry knowledge to positively impact public health and the retail business.  The application has been simplified this year, now only requiring one letter of recommendation. The RDBA Advisory Board and Executive Committee will select the award winner.  Applications are due by March 17, 2017, and the application can be accessed here.

Progressive Grocer Retail Dietitian Innovation Outreach Award

Progressive Grocer seeks to recognize the most innovative programs RDs have created or executed. "Successful shopper outreach is the essential linchpin for programs that promote healthy lifestyles," said PG Editorial Director Joan Driggs. "Retailers can have the best product assortment and topnotch services, but awareness and engagement drive positive results for shoppers and the retail banner." Nominations for the 2017 Retail Dietitian Outreach Innovation Awards are now being accepted at www.pgrd-awards.com. A panel of judges made up of retail executives, registered dietitians and Progressive Grocer editors will judge submissions on their ability to increase shopper engagement, build awareness of the retail banner as a partner in wellness, and provide demonstrable services to store customers and associates.
