Lil Snappers® Apple Contest
Enter to Win $1,000 conference travel stipend
When originally developed, Lil Snappers® apples were brought to grocery stores everywhere so kids could enjoy their favorite varieties in a size grown just for them. Today we know this product hits on many other consumer trends –plant-based eating, portability and convenience, and portion control. This contest, sponsored by Stemilt Growers and brought to you by the Retail Dietitians Business Alliance, is an opportunity for retail dietitians to leverage how well Lil Snappers® meet shoppers’ needs. The winner of the contest will receive a $1,000 travel stipend to an education conference of your choosing.
To enter the contest, run an in-store promotion for Lil Snappers® apples or Artisan Organics™ Lil Snappers® apples during the month of May. Product displays, tours, classes, demos, contests – the opportunities are limitless, and the key parameter is that in-store activation must be the focus of the promotion. Social posts, videos, and contests can also be included. Programs should be themed against kid-friendly foods, family portability and convenience, or portion control for key health conditions like diabetes. Stemilt offers a variety of resources that can be used during the promotion.
Upon completion of the in-store activation, submit a PowerPoint deck of no more than five slides to RDBA Executive Director Annette Maggi at email@example.com. The submission must include:
- Your name, credentials, title, retail company, store location if applicable, city, state, email address and phone number.
- An overview of your in-store promotion (500 words or less), including a description of promotion elements.
- Pictures of in-store activations.
- Metrics indicating the number of shoppers reached through the promotion.
This submission must be received by 11:59 pm EST on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.
You must be a dietitian employed by or consulting to a retail grocer and a current member of RDBA to enter this contest. Entries will be judged by RDBA Advisory Board members and Stemilt staff and key criteria considered are creativity of the in-store promotion and shopper reach relative to the retail RD role and company or store size. The contest winner will be announced on or about June 15, 2018.
