Applications Now Open: Retail RD of the Year Award
It’s that time of year – applications are being accepted for the RDBA Retail Dietitian of the Year Award through March 27, 2015. This award recognizes a retail dietitian who shows leadership in utilizing business skills and industry knowledge to positively impact consumer behavior change through the retail sector. The award will be presented at the FMI Connect show in Chicago from June 8-11, 2015, and complimentary travel and registration will be provided to the award winner. The RDBA Advisory Board and Executive Committee will review all applications and determine the award winner.
Stephanie Schultz, MSM, RDN, CD, Wellness & Corporate Communications Director at Festival Foods and winner of last year’s award is clear that receiving this recognition has positively impacted her career. “Winning the inaugural Retail Dietitian of the Year award is an accomplishment that I will forever be proud of! It brought attention – within our organization and even nationally - to our team of registered dietitians and the work we do within our 20 store, family-owned retail operation,” comments Schultz. “It provided opportunities to share my business knowledge with our senior leaders, and it solidified that I am a business woman who just happens to be a dietitian.”
You may nominate a colleague for the award and self-nominations are also accepted. In the application, it is essential to focus on how the retail RD has leveraged business skills and industry knowledge to positively impact public health and the retail business.
