Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Launches Online Certificate of Training for Retail Dietitians
On May 27th, the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics launched Supermarket Business and Industry Skills to Thrive in Retail Dietetics, an online program designed for retail dietitians to enhance their business skill and industry knowledge. The Retail Dietitians Business Alliance played an instrumental role in the program, from concept inception to content development. “This training program aligns directly with the mission of RDBA,” comments Phil Lempert, RDBA CEO. “It provides deep content on the business of retail and retail dietetics – exactly what our members need to be successful in their careers.”
The program is ideal for retail dietitians seeking to advance their business savvy and industry knowledge, and provides a strong foundation in retail dietetics for those seeking to enter this career path. The program also provides benefit for hiring managers, as they now have a way to distinguish expertise specific to the retail industry.
Development of the program was led by RDBA Advisory Board member and former Academy President Judy Dodd, MS, RD, LDN, FAND and RDBA Executive Director Annette Maggi, MS, RDN, LD, FAND. The Certificate of Training includes four modules:
