Nearly 70 retail dietitians attended What’s In Store 2016 held Saturday, October 15 as a part of the Food & Nutrition Conference & Exposition. The combination of peer networking, sponsor engagement, and great food and wine provided the backdrop for a perfect evening with retail dietitians.  The pictures below share a recap of the successful event.  

RDBA’s Executive Director Annette Maggi, MS, RDN, LD, FAND and Fleishman Hillard’s Sr. Account Executive Kelli Kennel, MS, RD get ready to kick off the “Shaking up Shopping: The Future of Food” presentations. 

The highlight of the evening was a Millennial panel, which discussed The Future of Food, as Told by the Next Generation of Food Leaders. RDBA Retail RD of the Year and H-E-B Nutrition Program Manager, Stacy Bates, MS, RDN, CDE moderated the panel of a mommy blogger, product developer, farmer, small business owner and Millennial engagement expert.

Kristie Sigler, Sr. Vice President and Partner at Fleishman Hillard provided insight into Generation Z.  By 2020, more than half of the population will be made up of Millennials and Generation Z.

Marilyn Mills, dietitian at Hannaford, one the evening’s door prize – a beautiful Tory Burch bag.

Networking time with event sponsors gave retail RDs the opportunity to hear about and sample new products and learn about resources available to support their shopper engagement.
