Announcements

The Retail Dietitians Business Alliance, in partnership with House Foods, is pleased to announce the launch of our latest EduTrac® – Plant-based in the Context of Healthy Eating.  EduTracs are designed as an online education tool, allowing retail dietitians to review them at a time and place that works best for you.

Today, plant-forward eating isn’t limited to vegans and vegetarians as more consumers adopt flexible eating habits.  The trend of including more plant-based meals in weekly routines is on the rise. In fact, the U.S. plant-based food industry as a whole generated a staggering $4.9 billion in revenue in 2016, and a survey from the Vegetarian Resource Group found that 36% of respondents use meat alternatives.

The Plant-based in the Context of Healthy Eating EduTrac positions retail RDs to leverage shopper interest in plant-centric meals, growing sales and potentially benefitting consumer health.  While background is provided, the focus is on activations dietitians can execute at retail.  Topics included in the online education module include:

  • The Rise of Plant-based Eating
  • Plant-based Eating and Health Management
  • Barriers to Plant-Based Eating
  • Plant-based Retail Activations

You can view the EduTrac® here.  Continuing education credits will be available soon for this education module.
